What is the Alternative Disco?

Swipe No Chip's Alternative Disco is my recurring, eclectic dance party series inspired by the early underground rave scene. Each edition features curated DJ and electronic performances, themed dress codes, and interactive elements designed to help you discover, connect, and express yourself. 

At the Alt Disco, there is no single right way to spend your night. Dance, chat, indulge, craft, photograph, breathe, be. Just be respectful to the people and the space, enjoy yourself, and make a new friend or two. And if you post online, tag us to help us spread the word and support the disco.

Whether it’s your first Disco or your fifth, I want to provide you a warm welcome, great music, lots of memorable moments, and plenty of ways to connect. 

Where is it and where should I park?

SRS Denver - 1665 South Acoma Street, Denver, CO 

PARKING: Street parking is plentiful in the surrounding neighborhood. Do not park in the venue parking lot—you may be towed.

GETTING HERE: Rideshare, carpooling, and public transportation are highly encouraged, and pickup/drop-off is easy directly in front of the venue. Bike racks are not yet available at the venue, but bikes may be parked in the alleyway behind the venue behind security. 

FOOD & DRINK NEARY: If you're making a night of it, the venue is within walking distance of several great bars and restaurants. 

• Broadway has a variety of options going North and South from the venue
• South Pearl Street / Platt Park is approximately 15 minutes on foot / 5 minutes behind the wheel from the venue, for some fancier options

THE VENUE: SRS Denver is a converted warehouse off Broadway Ave in Denver, now home to 6 fully sound-treated rehearsal rooms, an amplified performance space, and a vinyl record shop in the storefront. We chose SRS because it is safe, comfortable, and professionally equipped, and because it lets us get loud in a space that has the old-school warehouse character that inspired the early rave scene. Is the event 21+?

Yes. Alternative Disco is strictly 21+. All guests must present a valid government-issued ID at the door. We do not accept student IDs, other non-government IDs, or photographs of IDs. Your Costco Membership card doesn't verify your age, only your style (which is impeccable, by the way).

How much does the Alt Disco cost?

We don’t want cost to be a barrier to participation. Alternative Disco operates on a Pay What You Can (PWYC) model: each event has a suggested entry price, but you’re welcome to pay the amount that feels appropriate for the experience and what you can afford. And no, it's not going to ask you if you'd like to add a tip.

Registrations are paid at the door and can be paid in cash, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or whatever form is easiest for you.

Keep in mind: these parties cost real money to produce. Your contribution pays artists and crew, covers production costs, and helps make the future Disco possible. <3
